How Passphrases Work

Example: river-lamp-tiger-monsoon-42!

This is easier to remember than random characters but still very secure!

Entropy grows with wordlist size and word count: roughly log₂(N) bits per word.
5 words from a 7776-word list = ~64 bits of entropy (very strong!)
Don’t reuse passphrases. Store safely in a trusted manager.
Capitalize/digits/symbol add mild entropy but main driver is words × list size.

🔐 What is this tool?

This is a secure password generator to help you generate strong, random passwords in order to better protect your online accounts. All of it runs in your browser – no data is transmitted to any server.

🧮 What is Entropy?

Entropy is a measure of how random and unpredictable your password is. This is a little like “password strength” measured in bits.

• 40 bits = Very Weak ⚠️

• 40-60 bits = Weak 😟

• 60-80 bits = Fair 😐

• 80-100 bits = Good 😊

• 100+ bits = Very Strong 🎉
